King & Wood Mallesons is delighted to announce 32 finalist works have been selected for the King & Wood Mallesons Award – Contemporary ATSI Art Prize.
The quality of entries was outstanding and the judges undertook a rigorous selection process to determine our finalists. We are delighted so many artists shared their work with us and took the time to enter the award.
We are honoured to collaborate with Exhibition Patron, highly accomplished curator, writer and artist Djon Mundine OAM, and an expert judging panel including established artist Vernon Ah Kee and accomplished curators Sharni Jones and Cara Pinchbeck. The Judges said they were 'pleasantly surprised and delighted with the quality of entries in the inaugural award.’
The exhibition will take place at NSW Parliament House from 5 – 27 September 2018 and winners will be announced on Wednesday 5 September. We look forward to sharing the finalist works with members of the public throughout the duration of the exhibition as we showcase and celebrate the outstanding contribution ATSI artists continue to make to Australian culture.
